About
I am a software developer, husband, and proud father of 2 wonderful sons living in Kew Gardens, NY. I am a Technical Director at R/GA, an interactive ad agency in New York.
I have been fortunate in my career to have the opportunity to work in very small teams (sometimes as small as just me) to create large, customer-facing applications that are heavily database-driven. So even though I am nominally a server-side developer, what really gets me going is database design and database application programming.
In an interview for my current position, I was asked about my thoughts on Java versus other programming languages. My response is relevant: I am agnostic on middle tier technologies. Modern applications are almost always built around a relational database, and in my opinion the middle tier language is more and more becoming just glue between the database and the front end.
That’s the basis for this blog.
